Mr George Hetherington died at his residence, Braefoot Plean. He was a native of the north of England, and came to this district as game-keeper at Polmaise Estate. For the last 30 years was an estate worker for Mr Wallace Thorneycroft, Plean House, Plean. He was one of the founders of the Old Plean Social and Athletic Club. He gave yeoman service in the capacity of Vice-president for many years. My Nana {Margaret} told us of memories when her father was grounds keeper at Plean Stirling Castle. Of living in the grounds keepers quarters, and of playing with the children of the owners. I also have a thank you, that was in the paper from my Great Grandfathers passing. It says the widow of George Hetherington and her grandson George, thank neighbors and friends for thier kindness. I am unsure of who's son this is. I also am aware of a cousin in Canada.
